My wife and I were very sorry to hear of the death of Dr. Elias and want to let you know how deeply sad we felt at his passing. We extend our sympathy to his family and we want to share with you the fond feelings and memories that we have of him. I first met Kurt Elias in the early 1960’s. He was a family physician on the staff at the Montefiore Hospital HIP group. He was the physician to my wife as a young girl and to her family. After we were married, he became my physician as well. He continued to be our doctor until we moved from the area in the late 1970’s. He was caring, compassionate, a wonderful physician and a significant person in our lives. We met again in the 80’s – our offices were a block away in Manhattan. Over time he became a friend and a mentor as I became a therapist. We would often meet to have lunch or breakfast together. This continued until recently when he became too infirm to do this. I will miss his love of life, curiosity and wisdom
